Tropical Prints | Summit Fair

Happy Thursday and Happy Memorial Weekend! Today I am sharing a little tropical print inspired look to get you ready for the summer weather! :)

Open shoulder or "cold shoulder" tops are a huge trend for the summer season. This one I found at JCPenney while shopping at Summit Fair is perfect for the warm hot weather. It's light weight and breezy with the most amazing print! I paired it with these "smart" capri pants from Maurices. These pants are Ahhhmazing! They are made out of ponte cotton, which is super comfortable, washes up well, won't fade, and has just the right about of stretch. Lace up shoes have also been a huge trend this spring. I've seen many variations in styles at several stores. These crop pants are perfect for showing off the details of my sandals and still looking polished. If you are looking for a pair of pants that will get you through the summer season I highly recommend these and you can't beat the $34 price point!

Mingle With Martine | VIP Styling Event

Last week I attending a glamorous VIP styling event with bridal dress designer Martine Harris, Chief Executive Officer of Martina Liana! It was such a fun event and I was so excited to see several other blogger friends there too! We sipped on two signature cocktails, the "Spicy Haute" cocktail which was pineapple, serrano pepper, champagne and the "Berry Noir" which was blackberry, ginger, and champagne! Yum!!!
Passed appetizers circled the room as we oooohed and ahhhed over the gorgeous dress designs! A mini bridal fashion show and inspiration board for this season's collections were presented by Martine and then we were all challenged to create our own unique looks by mixing and matching the pieces from the "Martina Liana Seperates Together Forever" collection! You can see all of our unique styles by searching the hashtag #MingleWithMartine on instagram. There was a styling bar with jewelry, head pieces, and even flower bouquets to complete our bridal look! Martine is so generous and gave each of us some unbelievable gifts; a silk robe, tote bag, nail polish, facial mask, lipstick, and an our very own Sorella Vita gowns, which you will see very soon!!!

Thank you so much to the ladies at Belle Vogue Bridal and Martina Liana for hosting such an amazing blogger event! It was definatley a night I won't forget!

Go Blog Social | Blogger Bash & Rooftop Soirée

This past weekend I took a road trip to St. Louis for the Go Blog Social conference! The weekend was packed with events including pop-up shops, mentor sessions, mini workshops, rooftop parties, and meet & greets with several well known bloggers and brands! It was a lot of fun to get to ask one on one questions and connect with so many talented social influencers offline. I was really looking forward to exploring several fun areas in St. Louis and fell in the love with the Central West End! The CWE is an historic, walk-able, St. Louis neighborhood with vibrant nightlife in a beautiful urban setting. There are gorgeous buildings and architecture that look like you couldn't possibly be in a Midwest city...more like the upper east side in Manhattan. I took these photos while we were walking to one of the events in the Maryland Plaza area. I wore this look to a blogger bash at Fauxgerty Boutique and later to the Mandarin Lounge for a rooftop soirée to celebrate a fun weekend with new blogger friends! It was a really great weekend of learning and socializing that was much needed as I've been navigating growing and expanding my blog and business! I have so many ideas and can't wait to keep Jana Style growing and bringing all of you many more outfit posts and styling ideas.

Hello Summer! | Summit Fair

Hello Summer! With memorial weekend right around the corner, I'm getting my wardrobe ready for the summer season. The stores at Summit Fair are gearing up for warm weather and I am loving all the new arrivals. I've been on the lookout for some pretty white dresses for my bridal showers and bachelorette festivities and spotted this one at Buckle. I love the pretty details and the light weight sleeves, although this dress wasn't quite right for my parties, it did capture my heart for the summer season! Who knows, I may wear white all summer!

P.S. for those who have asked me, you can were white as soon as you want. The old rule of waiting until after Memorial Day is pretty much non-existent these days. I start wearing my white clothes as soon as the weather starts warming up and I'm ready to start styling them into my looks! If you love it wear it... :)

Spring's Simple Chic Style | Summit Fair

May is here! Can you believe it, the year is flying by!!!  I'm looking forward to a weekend spent with family for Mother's Day! I wanted to share a simple yet chic look today showing how you can have fun with some color and still stay polished! I think this look would be great for church, or work, or brunch with family! I spotted this Calvin Klein dress at Summit Fair and had to make it mine! I loved the fun asymmetrical zippers and soft stretch fabric of the dress. I also, played around with the styling a bit and found that it looks great left unzipped and worn as a vest with skinny jeans and a simple tee underneath. It looked completely different and created two unique outfits! I love when I can make a piece work several ways in my wardrobe!
