I Quit My Job....Eeek! and Some other Life Updates!

Today is a special day for me! I quit my full time job and it's my first full day working my new schedule with more time dedicated to JANA STYLE Whoohoo! I feel such a breathe of relief but at the same time I feel some added pressure to take this thing up a notch, but here we go!!! Wish me luck!

I've accepted a new part time position working in interior design with some added opportunities to work on social media management and some advertising ad work! I am pumped!!! It all feels like such a better fit for me right now and I am just so excited to see where this all takes me! This new schedule means more opportunities for collaborations with brands and other bloggers, more availability for my personal styling clients, and just an all around better schedule for focusing on my existing partnerships and planning my upcoming wedding....ohmygosh...I  also got engaged a couple weeks ago!!! It has been a whirlwind of excitement and literally some of the happiest moments of my entire life!

Fall Romance | Summit Fair

Is anyone else loving this unseasonably cooler August weather? It's been getting me so excited to layer up my looks and prepare for fall! As I scoped out the stores at Summit Fair this week I've been noticing a few colors popping out at me such as dusty grays and blues and the very prominent color of the year, Marsala. These skinny pants are super soft and the fit is amazing! When I saw them in this shade I had to scoop them up! I've also seen a lot of crochet and lace this season as well. Delicate shirts and cami tops that can be worn under jackets and sweaters are my favorite! I love the detail it adds to this look!  

Stylist Tip: Just like mixing patterns and prints don't be afraid to mix textures and styles. I mixed this romantic lace top with a military inspired jacket that dressed down the look and created a more casual style.

Back To School Must Haves | Summit Fair

It's Back to School time!!! I know I am not technically going back to school but I have clients and friends who are, so I always like to think about what the best pieces are to invest in for this time of year. I follow trends and merchandise in the stores at Summit Fair and I try to be very in tuned with what is selling and what the stores are focused on featuring in the store front windows. It's actually one of my favorite parts of my job as a stylist and wardrobe consultant. I find it kind of fascinating to research and observe the fashion styles that people gravitate towards and what trend experts are predicting to be on the "It List" for each season. 

The transition from summer vaca style to a more sophisticated "back in the routine of life" kind of style can be tricky sometimes, especially for those young adults transitioning into new schools, new jobs, internships, and college. Life changes and new "school years" are often times when it gets tough to figure out your signature style and also buy things that will be practical and worth the investment. I like to focus on transitional pieces with great fit and quality. Once you have a good base wardrobe with those items then you can sprinkle in a few trendy pieces and some of those "It Items" like a maroon bootie, a color block bag, and some statement scarves.

End of Summer Style | Summit Fair

Pretty Red Florals + Heelusions Giveaway!

One of the best things about my blog has been the connections and friendships I have made over the last couple of years. I have been really lucky to have met some pretty kick-butt lady entrepreneurs and small business owners that not only inspire me, but supported me with my business as well!
