City Lights | Summit Fair

Happy Thursday! Today I am bringing you another fall transitional outfit from Summit Fair! With all the new arrivals in the stores lately it's getting hard for me to stay inspired by my summer wardrobe, I'm finding more and more ways to start wearing my fall pieces now. This super soft faux suede cover up is ahhhhmazing! It's light weight and goes with everything! I also found so many cute open toed booties this week, like this burgundy colored lace up pair that are perfect for wearing now when it's still warm outside! How awesome do they look with jeans?!

Free People is one of my favorite brands, they have amazing trend  pieces and I love their easy breezy style. Buckle at Summit Fair carries a wide variety of the Free People dresses, tops, shoes, and more! This beautiful emerald colored green top is a new arrival that I couldn't resist picking up when I was in the store the other day. It has a cowl neck and open back which is perfect for this time of year when it's still warm outside. It looks great layered like I have it here, or you could wear in open in the back with jeans for an edgier summer look.

How are you making the most of your summer wardrobe? Are you ready to start wearing your fall pieces too?

T.J.Maxx #RoadtoReal with Katherine Schwarzenegger

\

Last weekend I was thrilled to be able to participate in the #RoadToReal tour with Katherine Schwarzenegger at T.J.Maxx in Kansas City! Katherine is a best-selling author, Lifestyle on Your Terms blogger, and of course the daughter of Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger. She has appeared on The Today Show, as a guest co-host of The View and is a regular contributor to InStyle Magazine. Her passion for speaking, reporting, interviewing, and using her voice to make a positive change in the world is very inspirational!

Katherine traveled to 16 cities across the U.S. this summer to meet everyday women who shop at T.J.Maxx with real stories of survival, hope, and inspiration! I'm sure you've heard the saying "everyone has a story", sometimes the people we encounter everyday are going through some of biggest struggles we could ever imagine, but we may never know. When I heard about this tour I knew I wanted to sit down with Katherine and find out about her journey across the U.S. and hear what she has experienced by interviewing and talking with over 400 women!

"88 percent of women look to other real women like themselves for true inspiration, but 71 percent don’t feel like there is enough of a spotlight on those stories and experiences." - @T.J.Maxx

The idea behind this campaign really hit home with me for several reasons. I meet many women through my closet audits, personal shopping, and blog who share such amazing stories with me. I know personally how strong and inspirational women are, and feel really grateful for the clients and readers I have here at Jana Style that trust me with their closets and stories of their personal growth through fashion. I know many times it's much deeper than the actual "fashion" part, and more about finding confidence and feeling good about ourselves. I asked Katherine several questions when I sat down with her about her journey through the Road to Real, but the one thing she said when I sat down with her that stuck with me was that, "no matter what any women has gone through, or how many rough experiences they have had, the most important thing to them is still to make a difference in the world and their community." It's such a gift to be able to sit down with real women and hear their stories and let them share a part of their life with me."

I can't thank the team at T.J.Maxx and Katherine enough for letting me pop into her #RoadtoReal sessions and chat with her about this amazing campaign! The tour has now officially ended with Kansas City being the last of 16 city stops, but I asked Katherine if she planned to hit the road again soon..."RoadToReal 2.0??? We'll See!" :) The tour will culminate in a gallery event in New York City this fall, where Katherine and T.J.Maxx will unveil a collection of photography and stories captured along the road about inspiring women in communities across the country!

Patchwork Denim | Summit Fair

A couple of weeks ago I featured a denim guide to give you a preview on some of Fall's hottest denim trends. I got some positive feedback from some of you on the patchwork denim, so I decided to style a pair in this week's Summit Fair look! I've spotted different variations of the patchwork trend in several stores and I know it's going to be a big hit this upcoming season! It's fun, and looks great paired with booties and fall color tones. I paired my patchwork denim with a light weight peplum top, t-shirt cardigan, and booties for an early fall vibe.

With fall right around the corner, it's time to start thinking about some of the easy ways you can incorporating some of the key fall pieces into your wardrobe!

What other fall trends are you excited to try? What is your favorite fall wardrobe staple?

Perfect Day Floral Maxi Dress

Another hot summer day...another maxi dress! Keeping cool in a breezy, comfy dress is the only way I'm getting through this super hot stretch of summer! Flowy fabrics and fun prints of floral, stripe, and color have been inspiring me. This pretty long floral dress from Tobi is no exception. I love the flutter sleeves and leg slit! I paired this dress with a pretty strappy bra-let for some extra coverage and a pop of white under the pattern. I love the way the look came together when I styled it for a day out running errands and lunch with a friend!

Summer Sidewalk Sales | Summit Fair

Happy Thursday friends! We've made it through over half of the week! Today I am sharing a look from Summit Fair perfect for this weekend's Summer Sidewalk Sales! Stay cool and look chic while shopping the sales!  Can you believe it's that time of the year already?!?! There are deals to be had at almost every store, with up to 75% off clearance!

Tips for Shopping From Your Stylist:

*Summer sidewalk sales are the best of the best when it comes to scoring a great deal! It's season's end and most retailers are ready to fill their stores with new pre-fall merchandise! These sidewalk sales make that possible. If you see something you want, I'd grab it quick, the odds of it sticking around on the rack are slim to none!

*If you love something but don't see it in your size make sure you ask an associate. They may have more in back stock or they might be able too order it for you. Sometimes you can special order an item for free and have it delivered to you! You'll never know if you don't ask :)

*Be prepared to look through items one by one. Season's end sales tend to be more of a "search and you shall find" type of shopping adventure! It's a little bit more work, but the sales are totally worth the hustle!

*Just because an item is on sale doesn't necessarily mean you need to add it to your wardrobe. Regular shopping rules still apply. If the item doesn't fit you properly, or there is damage to the piece, or you just aren't sure...DON'T buy it! The worst thing you can do is add items to your closet that you never end up wearing!

*Think about adding versatile pieces that you can wear now and transition into your fall wardrobe. Jackets, denim, fitted tees, and neutral colored pieces that can be worn several ways are great things to look for!

In Lavender Love

I love lavender don't you?!? It's such a pretty feminine color and a perfect shade for summer! I recently got introduced to a great online boutique called Tobi. I had been on the hunt for the perfect dress for my bridal party and came across the fabulous site! Instantly, I was in love with the trendy pieces and amazing price points. I'm a girl who lives in dresses all summer long. I love girly style and there is nothing better than a perfect summer dress. This pretty little shift dress makes getting ready in the morning super easy and versatile. I paired the dress with a pair of metallic pumps and  a polished white vest to create a perfect work wear look, but I have also worn it with sandals and a simple necklace for a more casual look too! You know how I am, if I can create several looks with one dress I'm excited! :)

Style Insider: Summer Denim | Summit Fair

I love denim! I truly believe it's one of the most versatile styles any women can have in her wardrobe. The possibilities of styling the perfect pair of jeans is limitless. Summer is no different than other season when it comes to wearing the hottest styles and trends! Today I'm sharing how you can style three of the most popular summer trends. I've scoped out the stores at Summit Fair for the best pieces!

Boyfriend: This style is an edgy style that looks great paired with heels or sneakers. I love boyfriend jeans because they are loose fitting and very comfortable. Pair this look with a trench style vest or coat and a pair of metallic heels like Kylie Jenner for an edgy-sassy vibe!
 Jeans {Buckle}, Trench Vest {WHBM}, Shoes {Macy's}

High Waisted: This style has made a major comeback over the last couple seasons. High waisted gives an illusion of an elongated figure. Keep this style cool and classic like Beyonce with a pair of sneakers and a white tee!
Jeans {Charlotte Russe}, Sneakers {DSW}, White T-shirt {JCPenney}

Patchwork: There has been a trend of 70's and vintage inspired looks over the summer season. These looks are going to become a strong trend for the Fall season as well. Investing in a pair of patchwork jeans now to style with summer tops and then transitioning them into the fall season is a great idea!
