Fox 4 Morning Show | Spring 2015 Trends

Today I visited the Fox 4 Kansas City Morning Show to talk all about Spring 2015 Trends! I chose three trends I felt would be the most widely accepted this Spring/Summer season. I've already seen many examples of these styles and must have pieces in the stores as I've been working on various styling projects! Summit Fair || Bright & Preppy

Hey All! I realize it has been exactly a week since I posted and I am super sorry to leave you hanging! I've been swamped with a few upcoming projects (more on that later) and I also attended Go Blog Social this weekend which you may have seen if you are following me on Instagram!

Today I have another trendy Spring look from the stores at Summit Fair! I feel a little "xoxo gossip girl" in this outfit :) Layering for the chilly spring air is okay if I can do it with bright colors, like this citron sweater! The stores at Summit Fair are filled with bright new arrivals and I can't wait to show you more in the next few weeks!

The temps in KC have been a bit on the chilly side. For this outfit I mixed my spring pieces with my black tights and booties for a transitional look. If you layer your button up tops with you your lighter weight sweaters, don't forget to cuff your sleeves. It gives the outfit a more finished look. Small styling tricks really make a difference when layering.

Sweater {Loft at Summit Fair} Chambray Shirt {Loft at Summit Fair} Skirt {Loft and Summit Fair} Pearl Necklace {Charlotte Russe at Summit Fair} Pink Cross body Bag {Macy's at Summit Fair} Gray booties {Charlotte Russe at Summit Fair} Gold Bangle Bracelets {Charming Charlie at Summit Fair}

I love this cute pink cross body bag. It's the perfect color and size for Spring/Summer!

Happy Shopping! Only a few more weeks until Spring!

Summit Fair || Thinking Spring

Happy Summit Fair Thursday! I should let you all know I took these pictures last week on one of the nice days we had before the temps took a drastic turn for the worst! We are now snow covered and at about 10 degrees in KC! Brrrr! It makes me sad and I miss the sunshine but we are exactly one month away from the first day of Spring so I am going to hold it together for the next 28 days, 13 hours, and 18 minuties....yes I have my countdown app rolling :)  Come on warm sunny days!!!

In the meantime, I am plotting all the fun new things I am going to be adding to my wardrobe for spring. The stores at Summit Fair are filling up with new spring arrivals including sandals, spring handbags, and dresses! The storefront windows are looking gorgeous with pretty colors and fresh new styles.

Dress {Dressbarn} Shoes {Charming Charlie in store only} Clutch {Francessca's similar} Necklace {Charming Charlie} Bangle Bracelets {Charming Charlie} Sunglasses {Rue 21 similar} Gold Hoop Earrings {Maurices}

Hopefully it won't be too long before I can wear this look again! Snow, snow, go away! How are you getting through these last few weeks of winter? What new things are you planning on adding to your spring wardrobe?

NYFW || Favorite F/W 2015 Collections

Have you been watching the runway shows of  New York Fashion Week? I've been keeping a watchful eye on several of the collections including Kate Spade New York, J.Crew, and the Veronica Beard F/W 2015 Presentations. I wanted to share a few of my favorite looks today so I pulled 5 looks from each collection that stood out to me. All three of these designers have inspired me and have my mind brainstorming outfit trends and styling ideas. I've noticed intense pattern mixing, men's and women's fabrics paired together, fur and checks prints, longer coats, and an extension of pastels into the fall season, just to name a few!  I think these trends will be huge come Fall and I also think they are realistic in the everyday women's wardrobe. I'll be keeping my eyes open for more trends from the runways of NY to share here on Jana Style!

If you remember, I met the Veronicas at NYFW a couple of seasons ago, I've loved seeing their collections grow each season and I have to say this is by far my favorite collection!

What do you think? Do you have a favorite NYFW Fall 2015 collection?
What trends are you looking forward to trying?

Bridesmaid Dress ReStyled || Part 2

On Tuesday I told you all about a fun project I had been working on with my friends over at Essense of Australia! I was asked to pick out a bridesmaid dress and show you how I would wear it after the wedding. Today I am back to show you how I restyled my gorgeous purple dress!

 This dress has a great shape and I love the tulle skirt! I decided to tie a button up plaid shirt over top for a fun girly look! I added a cute pair of strappy heels and a blue bag for an extra pop of color! The tulle fabric and full skirt make such a great layering piece for the base of the outfit.

I hope I have inspired you to come up with new ways to style your bridesmaid or formal dresses. If you use the dress as a layering piece to  be worn with tights, jackets, and dressy tops, there are so many outfit possibilities!

Summit Fair || Galentine's Brunch Look

Happy Thursday! It's almost the Weekend and I sure am ready! But first, I have my weekly style finds from the stores at Summit Fair! Today I have the perfect look for your Galentine's Day brunch date! You know you'll have to spend some time with your favorite gal pals sometime over this weekend of love! Why not get dress up and go out for mimosas!!!

How cute is this white Guess bag and it's so perfect for spring! P.S. it's on sale now for 20% off! I've been on the hunt for a few perfect spring handbags and this one is definitely at the top of my list of must have spring bags! You should head to Macy's at Summit Fair with you girlfriends after brunch and snag a new handbag!

Heart Print Pleated Skirt {c/o Macy's Maison Jules} Cream Button  up top w/ lace sleeves {c/o Maurices in store only} Gray Pumps {c/o Charlotte Russe in store only} Denim Vest {similar Maurices} Guess Huntley Cali Satchel ON MAJOR SALE! {c/o Macy's} Love Necklace {c/o Charlotte Russe in store only} Gold & Silver Bangle Bracelets {Charming Charlie}

This super comfy pleated heart skirt is perfect for this weekend! If you want to make this outfit a more night time look, just add a black dressy top instead of the white one and  you could even put a black jacket with it. Add some fun sparkly jewelry and you are ready for your night out!

For this casual brunch look, I paired my heart skirt with a denim vest and gray pumps. The look is still dressed up but has a casual flare that I like! Perfect for an afternoon of shopping and hanging out with my girlfriends!

Hope you have a fantastic Valentine's Weekend!

XOXO

Jana
