{Travel} Back to New York

I've been on the high speed track of life lately. As soon as the weather warms up it seems like time goes faster and my schedule fills up quicker than ever! Its been a little quiet on the blog and I promise it won't last long. Just trying to get caught up after this past couple weeks of crazy travel. This past week I was in NYC for The Fashion Group International Regional Directors Conference. I met several amazing fashion industry people and took in as much of New York as I had time for. Then I jetted back to KC and met up with my boyfriend and his family and headed down to Table Rock Lake for a couple of days of relaxation. It was so beautiful and just what I needed. After I got back from the lake I headed to spend Memorial Weekend with my family. It's been a quick and busy last couple of weeks!

While in New York I attended DKNY's 25th Anniversary Party featuring special guest Natalie Off Duty. She has helped create a campaign and collection inspired by her love for DKNY and the mix of sporty and girly styles. I loved her presentation on her collection. Check out her blog post on the super fun night {HERE}

I went to New York with my good friend Teisha! We can never say no to a fun Photo Booth!
#DKNYCitySurfing Shopping Event Hosted by Natalie Off Duty

We attended a 3D exhibit at the Museum of Arts and Design called "Out of Hand" and A beautiful view of  Rockefeller Center surrounded by clouds.

I was so excited to meet Karen Marx the Executive Director of Elle Decor Magazine! She was so nice and I loved her stories about the behind the scenes work to create the content of the Magazine!

Drinks at the Campbell Apartment on our last night in New York City! I love this place because it is a 20's era inspired cocktail lounge within Grand Central Station. It's a very fun place to visit if you are ever in New York -- and if you are a Gossip Girl fan you need to go there anyway!

The Fashion Group International Regional Directors Awards Dinner was held at the Cosmopolitan Club. It was such a beautiful dinner!

Then off to the Lake.....

Stormy Point Village was a beautiful Cape Cod inspired resort with the most gorgeous houses. I was so in love with this relaxing neighborhood surrounded by Table Rock Lake! I felt like I was taken to another time.

A perfect day and a gorgeous walk by the water.

Back to reality now...I love to travel, it always makes me feel refreshed and ready to come home.

Do you have any summer travel plans? Where to?

{Featured Look} The Home. T

I love a good comfy Tee Shirt but, I love a good comfy Tee for a good cause, that is made in the USA, and shows my pride for my home state even more! The Home. T  is super soft cotton tee that benefits Multiple Sclerosis Research. Portions of the proceeds from these stylish Tees are donated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society specifically for research on this devastating disease.

Tulip Boutique on the Country Club Plaza is carrying this trendy and cause worthy line of Tees that have been worn by celebrity supporters including Mila Kunis, Hilary Duff, Kristin Cavallari, Ashley Greene, and Dierks Bentley to name a few.

I styled my Missouri Home T with this colorful floral midi skirt for a mix of casual and dressy! Sometimes I can't decide if I want to be one or the other, so I choose both. :) I love a Tee Shirt and skirt combo!

A few other KC Bloggers and I are featured on a fun collaboration called Tulip Twist over on Tulip Boutique's Facebook page! Head over there to see the different ways we all styled our Home Ts and get some inspiration on how you can style your own. Also, don't forget to VOTE for your favorite look!

{Outfit Post} St. Louis Fashion Week

Last weekend I attended St. Louis Fashion Week for the first time. I've been interested in checking out their runway shows for awhile now, but hadn't been able to make it there until this season. I was invited to go along with a couple of the Kansas City Fashion Week committee members to the Friday night show at St. Louis Union Station. I was very impressed with STLFW's presentation and loved meeting a few Project Runway designers while I was there too! My favorite designers of the night included, Project Runway's Viktor Luna, Novis NYC, and HARBISON Collection.

I love watching our Midwest fashion scene grow and thrive like it has over the last couple of years! It's amazing to see both St. Louis and Kansas City growing so much in the fashion world. I love being a part of it! Thank you KCFW for allowing me to tag along to the show!

I decided to wear this fun maxi dress to the cocktail party and runway show on Friday night. I love the fabric and fit of this dress; it's super comfy and light weight. I also love the slits on each side of the skirt! It's always best to wear a longer skirt or dress when you know you will be sitting, and this one is flowy and light enough to wear in the warmer temps.

My go-to accessories for spring have been pops of gold with a belt or bangle. I love the way gold can dress up any outfit!

{How I Spent the Weekend} Lunch & Shopping on the Plaza

I had such a great weekend! The weather has been absolutely amazing in Kansas City these past couple of days. I spent a majority of the weekend outdoors enjoying the sunshine. Saturday I took a long walk with my pup and then grilled out for dinner with my BF. On Sunday I spent the afternoon on the Country Club Plaza with my Sister. We sipped Sangria on the perfect patio at Brio and just talked forever! I love weekends like this. I feel refreshed and ready to take on the week after spending the weekend relaxing.

Yoga Wear

Yoga Fashion

I have been really interested in starting yoga recently. I have heard so many benefits of hitting the mat just a couple of times a week and also the relaxation and meditation time that it provides. I have been non stop in life lately and I think that Yoga would be an amazing way to get both exercise and a little bit of time to quiet all the things going on constantly in my brain.  Of course, with a new exercise routine, I will have to have the perfect wardrobe to match!

I've recently been introduced to an exercise and workout wear line called Sweaty BettyIt's a UK brand that has been gaining a lot of attention and has helped to create a thriving market of fashionable workout wear. I know working out isn't all that glamorous but I at least want to feel good about what I'm wearing...right!  The Sweaty Betty brand is growing quickly and has recently opened two US locations (SoHo, NY and Greenwich, CT).

I love the functional and fashionable pieces of this line. The yoga tanks are super longwhich I love, and are made of  loose fitting fabric with a detachable bra underneath.  The yoga pants are reversible with thick elastic waistbands and strategically placed seams to create a slimming silhouette. Check out a few of the pieces I would love to add to my workout wardrobe above.

Here are a couple of local events to help you get practicing Yoga this Spring!
