Spring Fashion on FOX 4 Morning | Summit Fair

This past Tuesday morning I stopped by FOX 4 Morning Show to talk all about some of this seasons hottest fashion trends! I scooped up three looks from Summit Fair to share on the show that I thought would be easy enough for any gal to incorporate into her spring wardrobe. 

Trend #1 T-shirt Dress - Graphic tees, comfort clothing gone chic, and athleisure categories really took off in fashion last year and now we are seeing the over sized t-shirt trend continue into 2017. T-shirt dresses and flowy cotton fabric swing dresses will be a big hit this season. I spotted this one in a heather grey fabric made from super soft cotton and knew it would be a perfect example for the show! 

Trend #2 Stripes -  Stripes have never been hotter! This striped duet dress has two slits on each sides, a v-neck line and elastic banded waist for extra comfort and easy styling. I love that it can easily be styled for the office or with sandals for a chic casual look as well. 

Trend #3 Bold Paisley Floral Prints - Florals for spring are always a no-brainer, but this season the floral patterns are very bold with lots of color and larger flower prints than in seasons past. I picked this tie-neck style for the morning show to incorporate some of the color trends we are also seeing this season, including the color of the year called "greenery".

Ombré Spring Lace | Summit Fair

It's been a wild week of spring weather here in Kansas City! First 80 degrees, then thunderstorms, then snow, then frigid winter temps, and now it looks like this weekend is going to be back in the 60's & 70's! No wonder it is such a hard task for us Midwest gals to stay stylish and put together when we are dealing with every season all at one time. Layers are a girl's best friend in the spring season because you never know what the day may bring. I found this super stylish perforated zip jacket at Buckle while perusing the stores at Summit Fair this week and thought it was the perfect  piece to style with this ombré lace tank. I love a pop of color and a piece that brings a little punch to this look. The ombré detail and flowy fabric are perfect to wear now with these soft black denim pants and will look great later with shorts or cropped pants!

PS. It was about 30 degrees outside when we snapped these pics so I had to grab a latte to get me through it! Have you tried the new Cinnamon Almond Milk Macchiato? It's amazing! There is a Starbucks located right inside Macy's at Summit Fair for an easy pick-me-up while shopping!

Romantic Spring Layers | Summit Fair

This Midwest weather needs to make up its mind! I keep telling myself one of these days, I'll be ready to put away all the layers but for now I'm still working on incorporating light weight layering pieces into my pre-spring wardrobe. I found this adorable vest from Dressbarn with the perfect romantic print that is great for wearing now with longer sleeved blouses and again later with tanks and dresses. I also love these adorable lace up tops that have been so popular this season. This blouse caught my eye when I spotted it in the store at Summit Fair this week because of the interesting asymmetrical hemline and chic boho vibe. I always love incorporating light weight fabrics and flowy spring pieces into an otherwise simple look!

Spring Must Haves | Summit Fair

Spring is in the air at Summit Fair! The stores are full of new merchandise and I can't get enough of all the gorgeous pastel colors and prints that are everywhere this season! Pantone recently announced the color for 2017 as "Greenery", which continues the pastel color palette perfectly from last year. If you are like me, and green is not typically a shade you gravitate towards, there are ways to incorporate it into your wardrobe without going total Shrek! lol I love that the light airy shade of green goes well with my latest obsession of lavender and pink and it also looks great paired with denim. Start small with accessories or prints and gradually work it into your wardrobe pairing it with other complimentary pieces.
