Falling for Fall | Weekend Style

F*A*L*L  is officially here! Although, it doesn't truly feel like it just yet.  It's still on the warmer side right now, but I know that the crisp cool air is coming! This weekend I took a stroll through my neighborhood greenhouse and farmer's market with my sister for some fresh mums and pumpkin picking. I love Saturday mornings with coffee and shopping list in-hand ready to check off the to-do's! How did you spend your first weekend of the fall season? Football, cooking, shopping? I did a little bit of everything! I'm also in a major cleaning, closet purging, and decorating mood! (more on that soon) Bring on those chilly fall days right?!, I get so motivated to get all the things done that have been pushed off through the summer months.

When we left for the greenhouse early in the morning it was still cooler, so I tried to make my fall sweater and jacket combo work, but as you can imagine it didn't last long. It's just too hot right now! But I did get a few pictures to show you my look. My sevenly sweater and new light weight olive colored jacket from at Jolly's and my go-to Lee "dream jeggings", were the perfect combo!

Olive Fall Florals | Summit Fair

Happy almost weekend friends, and happy almost first day of  F A L L  too -- it's tomorrow! :)  The temps are still pretty steamy here in Kansas City so I've been doing my best to embrace the season with all the fall prints and colors this girl can get her hands on!
I love pairing olive green with shades of maroon and wine colored accessories like I did in my outfit today! Charming Charlie has an entire featured collection of wine colored accessories this season. I spotted this gorgeous saddle bag while shopping the stores at Summit Fair this week and knew it would look amazing paired with my olive green floral top! When the weather is still warm, like it is right now, the best thing to do is play up the dark rich colors of fall in your outfits.

Olive green is one of those colors that I just can't get enough of right now! Pantone named 'greenery' the color of 2017 and I've seen it evolve into this gorgeous shade of "olive" or "dusty" green for the fall season. If you watched my fall style segment on Better Kansas City's Morning Show a couple of weeks ago, you'll remember me talking about this.
Color is such a key influencer of fashion trends each season and I've already had my eye on the New York Fashion Week color reports for next spring as well. So many of the colors that are trending now are going to continue to evolve into shades that will be at the top of fashion next spring. This pretty floral top is great right now but I'm sure it's going to make a comeback into my wardrobe next spring, as I see this color story continuing into 2018.

New York Fashion Week : Tulle Embroidery + Suede Jacket

Happy Tuesday Friends!

I'm back today with another look from my trip to New York Fashion Week! I wore this look for daytime shows at Skylight Clarkson Square, which was one of my favorite show venues. I was in awe of the hustle and bustle of people on the street that were rushing to shows, photogs snapping pics of bloggers and street style stars, and the never ending parade of black SUVs and NYFW Lexus cars dropping off attendee to the shows! Basically, I could have stood outside the venue forever just watching the show-stopping fashion and people of NY :)

My amazing friend Abby took these shots of me outside the venue before we caught the Taoray Wang show. Most of my looks this season were a lot more casual than the seasons that I have attended in the past. I dressed up this daytime look with this shear Zara top, black suede jacket, and black booties and still felt comfortable and pulled together for the long day of rushing around New York catching shows.

Summer to Fall Style Guide | Summit Fair

Happy Thursday Friends! After my trip to New York this past weekend, I am just exploding with new styling ideas and trends that I've seen while visiting the big apple! Street style in New York is unbelievable and it's so inspiring for a girl that loves fashion as much as I do! New York Fashion Week : Little Black Jumpsuit

I'm back from New York Fashion Week and starting to recover from the non-stop fun and constant schedule of shows, parties, showroom visits, and amazing nights out in NYC! One of my absolute favorite looks from this season was this super comfortable and flattering Dylan Jumpsuit by Maggy London. I wore this chic little black jumpsuit to the gorgeous outdoor party for Style Collective at Inside Park at St. Bart's. Typically I would have definitely worn a skirt or dress for an event like this, so this black jumper was a little out of my box, but I LOVED it, and I got so many compliments from the bloggers and brands I met at the party. I styled it with some simple jewels, my go-to classic black pumps, and a metallic bag for a pop of fun! Thanks for following along with me on social media during my fun trip to New York. I will have more behind the scenes and fashions from New York Fashion Week on the blog soon, Stay tuned!
