Who else out there is so ready for the weekend!? I definitely am! So I put this Popsicle Print top on and grabbed a bright purse to celebrate the first weekend of Summer in style! It has been a some-what cloudy rainy week and the sun is finally shining and looks like the weather is going to be just about "picture perfect" for this Memorial Day Weekend.  Whoohoo!!! Spring Layers | Grape Cardi Wrap

Happy Midweek Friends! It's been a stormy and damp week here in Kansas City, so I pulled out this fabulous light weight hooded cardi-wrap c/o Evy's Tree and one of my favorite floral tanks for a layered but still spring-time look. The best thing about spring is that the weather still gives us those few chances to wear some of the light weight layering pieces that just pop an ordinary outfit to the next level! During this time of year I always have a lightweight cover up with me when I'm running around during the day -- you never know if the weather is going to change or a restaurant or office space might have the air conditioner just a little bit too chilly! I love this pretty purple wrap because it's made from amazing super soft rayon jersey fabric and it's dyed in this gorgeous "Grape Popsicle" color! Spring Romper | Summit Fair

So as you've probably noticed my wardrobe has gone full force into spring and summer! I'm working on buying items that will not only go with light layers now, but transition nicely into the super hot weather I'm sure is on it's way. One of my favorite summer staples is a lightweight romper. I've had some trouble in the past finding one that fit me just right, I have a curvier body and it's not always easy to find one with the right shape and fit for me. I've been so happy to find several new ones at Maurices at Summit Fair that have an amazing elastic waist band and flowy style that fits me perfectly! I also love that this one in particular is perfect for wearing with dressier pieces and could also be dressed down with a denim jacket and sneakers, also it's black and white print goes with just about anything! Spring Cold Shoulder | Summit Fair

Happy Thursday Friends! Today I'm excited to share another spring look with you from the stores at Summit Fair! As you can tell from the pics in this week's post, I'm ecstatic that the weather has finally started to turn around and the sunshine has started to heat things up! 80 degrees and sunny is hard to beat! Cold-shouldered dresses with vivid prints have been a favorite of mine for a while now. They are so comfortable and fun to wear and I love that you can wear them pulled down off your shoulders or up over your shoulders too. I love a dress that has versatility and different ways to style it! When I spotted this pretty boho medallion off the shoulder dress it was calling my name for this week's look, plus how perfect is it to wear for taking Mom out to brunch this weekend?! Spring and Summer time are perfect for adding extra pops of color too. Go all out with your looks and keep them bright and fun! Adding color with your accessories is always a fun way to add that extra little ooomph! Don't worry if your purse and shoes are different colors.

Mission Project's 10th Annual Derby Gala

Last week I was so excited to go on KC Live to talk about Derby Fashion with the Mission Project! The 10th Annual Run for the Roses Kentucky Derby Gala is coming up on May 6th and I shared some stylish looks from Summit Fair that are perfect for the Diamond Celebration Gala! 

When adults with developmental disabilities reach the age of 21, there are fewer services for them. The Mission Project serves these adults at that critical time and beyond, offering an opportunity for a full life in which they can thrive. Mission Project participants enjoy living in their own apartments and socializing in their own community while also being supported by parents, guardians, friends and dedicated professionals.

The Kentucky Derby Gala is the Mission Project's biggest fundraising event of the year. It helps provide funding for the amazing programs they offer the adults in our community with developmental disabilities. Not only is the party for an amazing cause, it's also a really fun time to come out, get dressed up, win some prizes, and watch the Kentucky Derby race!

Pretty Pink Bomber Jacket

Happy Monday Friends!!! 

 It's been quite a rainy weekend in KC and I'm soooo ready to see the sun make a comeback this week! Spring has been a little bit chilly in the Midwest lately so I've been loving this super-cute bomber jacket trend I've been seeing everywhere! I paired my jacket with a pair of comfy white denim jeans and a light weight sweater underneath for a spring inspired layered look! Don't forget to add two of the hottest trends to your casual looks this season, a backpack purse and athletic sneakers! 

Not only is the bomber jacket popular in women's fashion this season it's also really popular in men's fashion as well! According to GQ Magazine, last year, the interest in the bomber jacket was unparalleled. Google searches for the wardrobe staple surged by over 500%! So, if there was ever a trend to try this is definitely one to put your money on. 

How to style the bomber jacket trend: 

I love to pair my bomber jacket with distressed denim and a printed t-shirt to play up the athletic/leisure style that the bomber jacket has been known for. Satin fabrics, striped trim, and embroidered stitching have also been popular stylish details that I've seen on several of the different bomber jackets this season. I'm looking forward to styling my pink and black one with a cotton dress and sneakers once the weather gets a little warmer.
