Lavender for Days | Summit Fair

I haven't been able to stop thinking about everything lavender since I saw J.Lo in that stunning Ralph and Russo gown on the Grammy Awards Red Carpet a couple of weekends ago. It's such a pretty color and all I want to do is buy everything I see in this gorgeous shade of purple. Luckily for me, I've seen it in several stores around Summit Fair over the last week and when I spotted this off the shoulder blouse with knot ties on the sleeves, I knew I had to style it! What I love about this blouse is that you can wear it with the straps showing off your shoulders or you can pull it up over your shoulders for a little bit more coverage. It's also perfect for the office with a great pair of skinny ankle length dress pants like I styled it here. Another option would be to style it with some denim shorts for a weekend look perfect for a backyard barbeque with friends! I love when I can wear things several different ways and through a couple different seasons!

Pink + Camo | Summit Fair

Man oh man, am I ready for spring! We've had so many beautiful days lately it's like a little taste of what's to come and I seriously can't wait! I recently spotted these camo denim flex jeggings while shopping at Summit Fair and I wanted to style them for an easy spring look. Camo is one of those prints (like leopard) that is treated almost like a neutral. it doesn't really ever go out of style, but this spring it seams to be hotter than ever before. You'll probably start to see it all over the place if you haven't already. The key to wearing camo like a pro, is to style it in moderation. Pick one key piece in your outfit to be your "camo statement" and then style your look around it. If the print seams too intimidating for you, start with some smaller pieces or outerwear is a great option for trying out this trend as well. I always try to have a girly spin on things so I paired my printed pants with a pink cardi and this super comfy 24/7 sandwashed tank -- which, I'm going to be buying in every color because it feels amazing!

Valentine Be Mine & Pink Hot Cocoa Too! | Summit Fair

Pretty and casual is how I wanted to style my look for this year's Valentine's Day. I found this adorable peplum top and knew I wanted to pair if with these ruby red shoes for a fun look of love. I have been obsessed with all the cute peplum and ruffle styles I've been seeing this season. I love the exaggerated sleeves and ruffles on the bottom. The stores at Summit Fair are starting to fill up with new spring trends and I'm so excited to add more light weight fun tops into my wardrobe as I transition my closet into spring. Over the weekend it was warm enough to be able to wear this pretty look without a cardigan or vest and I absolutely love it! 

One of my favorite Valentine's traditions is to make Pink Hot Cocoa and snuggle up at home with my pup and my hubby. We usually make dinner and stay in for a quiet night at home together. I haven't figured out what exactly I'll be making for dinner on Tuesday night yet, so if you have some yummy dinner ideas send them my way :) I shared my pink hot cocoa recipe below for you all too! There are several variations I've found on Pinterest but this seems to be the simplest one and I really like it.

Peplum Blouse {JCPenney} Jeans {LOFT} Shoes {DSW} 

Valentine's Day Pink Hot Cocoa 

Makes 2 cups

1 c Strawberry Nesquik -- Add more for color and flavor

1 1/2 Cups  White Chocolate Chips

4 Cups Whole Milk 

In medium saucepan, combine milk and white chocolate chips. Place over low heat and stir until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Add the strawberry Nesquik until you have your desired color and flavor. If the milk and chocolate mixture is too thick add more milk :) 

Add Whip Cream, Marshmallows, and Pink Sprinkles to the top!

Faux Love

Hello February! I took these blog pics with my sister last weekend, and it was absolutely F R E E Z I N G ! and sooo windy I could barely stand up straight! One thing is true the coldest month of the year has officially started and all I can think about is spring! Being a Midwest blogger has it's struggles, one of those is finding the warmest out of the seven days each week to take photos...this was a rough one, so I apologize for my crazy hair! lol 

Now let's talk about my outfit -- Last spring I took a trip to St. Louis and attended a networking event at a really cool boutique called Fauxgerty in the cutest neighborhood in STL called the Central West End. Fauxgerty is a collection of cruelty-free threads with an emphasis on recycled elements and local, ethical production in STL, Los Angeles and New York. The beautiful faux "leather" pieces in the store are actually produced by using up-cycled products. The faux suede is produced with recycled polyester, plastic bottles in the lining, and Fauxgerty also uses recycled or reusable products in their packaging and marketing materials. 

Each piece in the collection is designed to be timeless in it's construction so they can be worn season after season. I love the design of the zip up moto jackets like this classic grey fuax leather style. The true color is a mix between light brown with a grey tint that goes with just about everything. I paired mine with a simple sweater dress and black boots for an easy weekend night out look!
