Veronica Beard Presentation 2.6.13

New York Fashion Week Day # 1

My first night in New York I attended the Veronica Beard Fall 2013 Presentation. The venue of the presentation was at Bill's,  57 East 54th Street NYC

The atmosphere of Bill's fit the collection perfectly. The downstairs tavern felt like an old saloon. Everyone was mingling and sipping on cocktails. Upstairs the collection was presented in a gallery format, where the designers greeted and spoke with guests as they viewed the collection.

Fur was a dominate fabric used throughout the collection mixed with beautiful tones of mauve, blue, purple, and green. I also noticed leather, metallic, and beautifully tailored jackets.

The models all had long fishtail braids with natural looking makeup. A pinkish nude lip and soft pink blush on their cheeks.

"The collection is inspired by American roots and the horse ranches of the west.  References to the American Flag, the buffalo and the bandana, worn leather chaps, western shirts, shearling and denim tip their hat to the iconic western uniform - the first true American sportswear.  Life’s journey is always informing the future for this woman and the references are never lost on her.  She pulls from the past when defining her personal uniform, where reality is borrowing from fantasy." - VB Presentation
