#RealBloggerBeauty

I started my blog a little over two years ago, which makes me somewhat of a baby in the blogging world. I have been very lucky to have had so many great experiences, I've met some amazing bloggers and designers, and had some of the best opportunities ever in the time I've been writing my blog. Even with all the fun things that have come along , it can be hard to find my voice and not compare myself to other bloggers. I sometimes have to remind myself that I have my own unique style and love for fashion that is not always going to be like everyone else. Truthfully, that is the beauty of it all isn't it?

{Each of us have our own individual style and view of the world!}

Maya from Charmingly Styled launched an amazing campaign called "Real Blogger Beauty"....it's the truth behind it all...that we are NOT always perfect! Of course, we love to have beautiful pictures on our blogs and instagram feeds but, honestly it's not always sparkly macaroons, blogger meetups, and sunshiny days full of outfit selfies. We are all real people and most of us have full time jobs, school, and families. For me, it has been a struggle to maintain it all at times. Sometimes I am involved in too much and have found myself recently cutting back on a couple things to truly focus on what I want. It's hard not to always attend every fashion event or meetup but sometimes you have to step back to refocus.

The comparison game is also something I have fallen victim to several times. I know so many amazing bloggers and I am so inspired by so many of them that sometimes the doubt fills my head and it can be a really hard thing to get past. I don't always get to post to my blog as often as other bloggers and I don't have as many followers or comments and it can really consume me if I let it. I've learned recently that I sometimes need to "Unplug" myself for awhile-- turn off the phone, give myself a break from social media, and let myself just breathe for a minute.

I blog about fashion because I love it and I want to inspire others. That is truly my driving force behind my blog.  I feel like it has tested me, taken me out of my comfort zone at times, and also taught me that I have to be confident in who I am. I think I sometimes also need to give myself credit for my accomplishments and feel content with were I am in the process.

Thank you Maya for bringing so many bloggers together today to support one another! It's very refreshing to see everyone speak so openly about the struggles of real life.

  1. I can totally relate to this! I used to blog at least weekly, but the past several months I've gotten so busy with life that my blog has fallen to the back burner. It's so easy to compare yourself to others--in anything really--but sometimes we all just need to unplug :)

    1. Thank you Jessica! I really love your blog too! I'm glad we have become friends through our blogs! It's hard not to compare, I think its a natural reflex sometimes, but just knowing we all struggle with it has definitely helped me get passed it a little bit. Thanks for the support girl!
