White Cropped Denim + Watermelon Hoodie

Happy Wednesday! Hope you all had a great 4th and a long extended weekend! I'm slowly recovering today...but boy am I tired! We spent time with family, did a huge cookout, swimming, and of course lots of fireworks to celebrate Independence Day. It's always good to unplug and have some fun but getting back in the swing of things is hard (currently: I'm sipping coffee like crazy!) 

Today I'm back with a look from date night last week. We had some strange cooler evenings in Kansas City last week and it was a little overcast and chilly outside...so weird for the end of June, but I took advantage of it so I could wear my new watermelon striped hoodie. I paired it with my favorite cropped white denim and heeled sandals for a dressed up but still casual going out look. In the summer-time I always love to pair my white denim with my darker toned tops for a clean and fresh look. 

Tips for Wearing White Denim in the Summer

* Create balance in any look by pairing the starkness of white on bottom with a bold color or fun print such as florals, stripes, or gingham on top. 

*Neutral Shoes always pair well with white denim, it also elongates your legs and makes you look taller.

*Create work wear appropriate looks by pairing dressy tops with white denim jeans and a blazer. 

* White on white is one of the summer's hottest trends. Pair your white denim jeans with a white top in a fun fabric such as lace, satin, or chiffon. Play with texture when creating a white on white outfit. 

* One of my favorite ways to wear white denim jeans is to pair the look with a chambray top. It's a classic style and the blue and white pair perfectly together! It's also an easier way to wear denim on denim without feeling too matchy-matchy.
