This month I am so excited to share with you the Penny Preville collection from TIVOL! Penny will be making a guest appearance in both of the Kansas City area stores this month! (December 13th and 14th) I fell in love with Penny's designs as soon as I saw her exquisite pieces in the glass cases at TIVOL. I have a place in my heart for vintage meets modern and these jewelry pieces are absolutely stunning! Penny mixes old with new so effortlessly and there truly is something for everyone in her collections. ABOUT PENNY:

Penny finds inspiration for some of her collections in vintage jewelry. Stars and moons, flowers, feathers, and garlands are among the motifs that highlight necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings. The flip side to the poetic pieces are designs with clean geometric lines and polished surfaces, all of which define a more modern focus.

While the designer adds splashes of colorful gems and pearls to her exquisitely made jewelry, diamonds, in all shapes and sizes, are the main component in the collections. "Diamonds are the fairytale stone," says Penny.

The beauty of the designs blended with fine craftsmanship and Penny's eye for details, results in heirloom quality jewels that women will put on and never want to take off.

It's been almost forty years since Penny Preville launched her designer collection. It all started as a personal passion. Enchanted by jewelry from a young age, Penny loved playing with the pieces in her grandmother's jewel box. By the 1970's, she began her professional foray in jewelry with a collection of simple beaded pieces accented with feathers. In just a few years, Penny was using precious materials and creating her signature new vintage looks. "I wanted to make jewelry that I could wear," explains the designer. "Jewels that felt romantic, but fit into a modern lifestyle."

Penny has won numerous accolades for her work including the WJA Award for Excellence in Design and the Town & Country Couture Diamond Designer's Excellence Award. Yet the most important praise to her is the fact that the jewelry gives her clients joy.

Penny's husband, Jay, has worked on the business side of the company virtually from the launch of the brand. Today, he acts as the president of Penny Preville. Together the couple has two sons.

When their oldest son, Skyler, decided to propose to his girlfriend, Mara, in 2009, Penny designed a special engagement ring. This first piece evolved into her bridal collection.
