{Denim Guide} 4 Jeans for Every Occasion

Today I'm going to show you 4 pairs of jeans that you should own for every occasion. They are the best styles to get you from Day to Night and Office to Play. If these are the only 4 pairs of jeans you own, you will be set! The best part is, they are all different styles so you can work them into your wardrobe with ease and create several new looks.

Dark Flare Jeans -- Best For Work
Dark washed flare jeans create a polished and professional look. This style of jean works well with blazers and more structured tops. The flared fit looks best with a heeled shoe or boot making them ideal for causal Friday. When you are purchasing a darker washed jean for work, make sure they don't have any holes and distressed rips on the pocket and hems. If you want to keep your denim as dark as possible, wash them inside out. This will help keep the washer from stripping away the dark dye from the fabric as quickly. I've heard of adding a full teaspoon of table salt when you wash them for the first time. This will help set the dye to the fabric.

Faded Skinny Jeans -- Best for Casual Day Out
Faded skinny jeans are my go-to for a day out and about running errands or shopping. They are always a favorite in the fall especially because they are the best jeans to pair with boots. They look great with casual tops and jackets too! I love a pair in medium blue wash with a little bid of whiskering or fading on them. I think a great pair of skinny jeans should last you several seasons.

Light Wash Distressed Jeans -- Best for Weekend Brunch
Distressed and faded out jeans are perfect for the weekend! I love a comfy worn in pair of jeans that feel casual yet trendy. My distressed jeans are perfect paired with fun tops and easy, breezy, flowy kimonos. I love to pair these jeans with boots and Converse tennies for all my weekend running around. Usually, a pair of light wash denim has a much softer feel because they have less dye in the fabric. They tend to be much more comfortable than my darker jeans and ideal for a weekend brunch with friends.

Classic Black Skinny Jeans -- Best for Date Night
You can't go wrong with a classic pair of black skinny jeans. They are probably the most versatile pants ever! You can dress them up with heels and a dressy top or you can make them casual with boots and a comfy sweater. They are perfect for date night because they are denim, yet they look polished. I live in my black pair of skinny jeans from Loft!

  1. I tend to stick to one style and don't branch out. I currently own four pairs of GAP skinny jeans all in different colors. The first pair you're wearing are my favorite! Wish we would have been able to chat more last night - tomorrow for sure!

  2. These are all great options! I just bought a pair of skinny black jeans, and I'm excited to try them out soon. You know, when KC isn't 80 degrees:)
