Jason Wu presented his first collection for Fall/Winter in February 2006. He gained a huge burst in popularity when he designed a custom gown for First Lady Michelle Obama for the Inaugural Gala in 2009. His designs are always sophisticated and elegant with a modern edge.
My absolutely favorite collection from NY Fashion Week was the Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear Collection by Jason Wu. When I found out that it was coming to Halls on the Plaza just a little over a month after it debut on the runway, I knew I had to see it in person! The shows finale dress was my ultimate motivation to see the collection.
This dress is B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. - there is no doubt why it was the finale piece in the collection! A beautiful flowing mesh outer shell of the dress covered in tiny silver stars. The top of the dress is a crisscross strap with a silver buckle detail. I can imagine any movie star wearing this as a red carpet look.
What I love most about this collection is the mix between feminine details, sparkle, and stones, mixed with leather, straps, and buckles. Its classy with just a little bit of edge.
