Thursday Night's Kansas City Fashion Week show was so amazing! The excitement was in the air as the first of three runway shows kicked off the Spring 2015 season at Union Station. The designers presented a flawless mix of menswear, childrens, and womens wear designs to a packed crowd of KC's most fashionable. I pulled out three collections that I loved from the show!
Tom Paolini is a Kansas City based menswear designer
specializing in custom made suits, sports coats, trousers, shirts, tuxedos, and
over coats. His family background in the clothing industry paired with his
experience in business development and sales management for multiple Fortune
500 companies gives him a unique perspective as a designer and business
owner. Tom’s store “Paolini Garment Company” located on the country club plaza is
a gem of Kansas City. I loved the collection
of pieces he showed on Thursday night. I was impressed by the seamless mix of
dressy and casual pieces paired together. The collection featured sports coats paired
with dark denim, popped sweater collars under lined jackets, and perfectly fit
suits and ties.
Ami Beck is the talented designer behind these beautiful
leather handbags. She is a recent graduate of Stephens College (Columbia, MO)
and founded Dolyn Bags in early 2014. This is her first season showing in
Kansas City Fashion Week, and I was blown away! Each bag had beautiful detailing and perfect stitching. If this is just her first
collection at KCFW, I am thrilled to see where she goes from here! She is definitely
a designer to watch and I am also excited to work with her as a Fashion Group
International Kansas City member!
Molly is the youngest designer that showed this season at Kansas City Fashion Week. She is a 15 year old womens wear designer from Omaha, NE. She blew me away with her vintage inspired street wear collection! My favorite look featured these wide legged yellow printed trousers. I also always admire a designer who pays attention to styling details and Molly did an excellent job! Tall knee high socks paired with high heels, small vintage fringe purses, and headbands created a bohemian feel to the looks and I loved the overall presentation of the collection.
Watch for more highlights from Friday and Saturday nights shows later this week.
