Spring is right around the corner and I couldn't be happier about it! I've been scouting the stores at Summit Fair for all the new arrivals. One of the most recognizable spring fabrics is gingham! Today I want to show you how to start incorporating it into your wardrobe now, to add that spring flare into your transitional outfits. Layers are so important in the spring months because the temperatures go up and down, and if you are the Midwest they can go from spring to winter tundra in one day...right! I think having a few transitional button up shirts in your wardrobe are really important for layering under and over pieces to make several looks! Color is also such an important factor when picking out spring pieces.

Hi Jana! How do you layer a button-down underneath a sweater without adding bulk? When I do it, it looks sloppy.
ReplyDeleteHi Maggie!
DeleteI think it's all about the fit of the button up. This one is a women's cut so it's a little slimmer and fits well under sweaters. Also, the over sweater is loose fitting and I sometimes go up a size if I know I want to layer things underneath. A good tip is to take the button up with you to the store to try on with the sweater so you know if they will be a good pair. That's exactly what I did with this one! Hope that helps! xo
Thank you for the tips. I think that will really make a difference because I tend to buy the same size in nearly all of my tops. I'll probably have to look for a more fitted button up, I tend to buy mine at Old Navy or Gap and I guess they are bit too big under the sweaters. Thanks again and I enjoy the blog! :)
DeleteThank you Maggie! I'm so glad I could help! I will keep an eye for some more fitted styles to feature here on the blog. The one I am wearing in this post is from JCpenney and I have had good luck with the ones I have found there. Thanks for reading! xoxo
